McKee Construction Co. Honored With NAIMA I.Q. Award
Established this year, the NAIMA I.Q. Award honors metal building contractors who are committed to Insulation Quality, best practices and achieving the highest standards of energy efficiency through the use of NAIMA 202-96(r) fiber glass metal building insulation - a product specifically designed to meet or exceed energy standards and to deliver superior energy efficiency. According to Charles Cottrell, Director of Technical Services for NAIMA, "Creating success in the metal building industry requires quality products and a dedication to delivering long-term value for building owners and investors. NAIMA 202-96 fiber glass insulation helps builders achieve these standards by providing the highest levels of energy efficiency, interior comfort, and safety. The I.Q. Award is given to outstanding builders who include 202-96 insulation as part of their overall commitment to excellence." Based in Sanford, Florida, McKee Construction has been designing and building commercial structures throughout Central Florida for more than 30 years. "Our company motto is 'We Structure Our Business to Build Yours,'" notes owner and president, Bobby VonHerbulis. "We pride ourselves in living by this statement, always emphasizing that we are a quality-driven builder, committed to their cause." VonHerbulis notes that for most building owners and investors, long-term value translates to annual energy savings that can be maintained over time, and the potential resale value of the property. "NAIMA 202-96 fiber glass insulation is a big contributor in this area because it provides energy efficiency that is superior to other materials. So, the owner achieves savings year after year, and is in a better position to secure a buyer if he decides to sell at some point down the road. Lower heating and cooling costs can be a strong deciding factor for a buyer." Kampf Title and Guaranty Corporation tapped McKee Construction Co. to build its new 11,250 square-foot headquarters, and experienced the McKee commitment to excellence first hand. According President Russell Heinle, "From the start, through every detail and process, dealing with the McKee organization has been a fabulous experience. Bobby, Steve and the team went over every detail of our building, including the insulation. We wanted the most energy efficient building possible, and the highest quality in every way. Our interest was not in finding the lowest price. We were interested in long-term value, and believe that we will be enjoying the benefits of our McKee-constructed building for many years to come." Bill Grimes, Director of Expansion and Acquisition for Cox Lumber Company, echoes these comments. "We hired McKee Construction to build four pre-engineered steel buildings and refurbish two existing buildings," he said. "This project presented some difficult challenges, and the professionalism exhibited by the McKee team is a benchmark for the industry. They highly recommended NAIMA 202-96 fiber glass insulation for its acoustic and thermal benefits, and we have achieved both." With a 95 percent repeat business rate, McKee Construction has created a winning formula for success. "We sit down with the building owner and create the full picture for the customer, showing them how they can benefit from superior products and our job expertise," notes VonHerbulis. "We are not interested in using the cheapest products, or cutting corners. Our goal is to provide a finished product that will last and enhance energy efficiency. When it comes to the insulation, owners understand pretty quickly that the money they save in heating and cooling costs, can be put towards expansion and growth." As the winner of the NAIMA I.Q. Award, McKee Construction will be featured in an advertising campaign scheduled to run in leading metal building and insulation trade publications. "We are proud to promote the accomplishments of the McKee Construction team," notes Cottrell. "By exhibiting the highest levels of professionalism in their building practices, they help create success for the metal building industry, and all companies who strive for excellence in serving this market." |
